SLIVER AND GOLD CAKE | |
6 egg whites, beaten 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. sifted flour, sift 5 times YELLOW PART: 6 egg yolks with 4 tbsp. cold water 1/2 c. sugar sifted 5 times 1/2 c. flour sifted 5 times 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1/4 tsp. salt Mix as for angel food cake. Beat egg yolks with water until thick and lemon colored. Add sugar and beat well. Add rest of ingredients. Bake in angel food tin with white part on bottom and yellow on top. With a knife, cut through batter so it will be slightly mixed. Bake at 320 degrees for 1 hour. |
