CHOW CHOW 
2 lg. cabbages
1 peck green bell peppers
1 peck green tomatoes
6 onions
5 lbs. sugar
6 qt. vinegar
2 tbsp. whole mixed pickling spice
1 c. salt

Chop all ingredients and soak in salt water (enough water to cover the vegetables) for 10 minutes. Squeeze out water.

Mix sugar, vinegar, and spice and cook 30 minutes. Pack in jars and seal. Good on greens and beans.
