CHOW CHOW 
2 med. heads cabbage
5 lg. onions
3 green bell peppers
1 qt. green tomatoes
1 red hot pepper
1/2 bunch celery (do not put in salt water)
1 tbsp. turmeric
2 c. sugar
1 qt. water
1/2 c. pickling salt
3 tbsp. mustard
1 qt. vinegar

Chop all ingredients fine, add pickling salt with enough water to cover. Let stand for 3 hours; drain. Mix mustard, turmeric, sugar and vinegar. Bring to boil. Add vegetables (except celery) and boil 10 minutes. Add celery. Pack in jars and process in water bath for 15 minutes.
