POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour (Betty Crocker Softasilk)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Alternate flour and milk into mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into greased, floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. (Check after 1 hour.)

LEMON GLAZE (OPTIONAL) :

Mix powdered sugar, grated lemon rind and lemon juice. Drizzle over cake. (Tina likes this without the glaze.)
