FIG CAKE 
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cooking oil or butter
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped fig preserves
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 tbsp. vanilla

Mix well and pour into sheet pan; bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and add glaze.

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix and boil 3 minutes. Pour over cake while still warm.
