FRENCH VANILLA CREAM COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream butter. Add sugar slowly. Add egg, salt and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, soda and cream of tartar. Mix well and chill about 1 hour. Form into small balls and flatten on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. (Sift flour, soda and cream of tartar together.)
