WALNUT DRESSING 
1 1/2 tbsp. red or white wine vinegar
1 c. oil
3/4 crushed garlic cloves
4 slices French bread or reg. bread
1 tsp. basil (dry)
3 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
6 tbsp. walnut pieces, coarsely chopped
2 bunches Romaine lettuce, sliced
Red onion, sliced
Orange slices, sliced in food processor or by hand

In a jar, combine vinegar, oil, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper. In food processor, place torn pieces of bread and garlic cloves in bowl and turn off and on until bread is in crumbled pieces and garlic is in fine pieces.

Add this mixture to the remaining ingredients in jar and shake jar vigorously until ingredients are well blended. In salad bowl, combine lettuce, red onion, walnut pieces, and orange slices; toss together, then add salad dressing, tossing salad to distribute dressing to all leaves. Allow salad to sit for half hour.
