JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
BOWL 1:

3 c. flour, sifted
2 c. sugar
1 c.cooking oil
4 eggs
1/4 c. applesauce
3 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt

BOWL 2:

4 lg. sized apples, peeled & cut in sm. pieces
2 tsp. cinnamon
5 tbsp. sugar

Beat together the ingredients of bowl 1. Pour half the batter into a greased turks head pan (or tube pan). Arrange half of apple mixture over it. Pour in remaining batter and top with the rest of apple mixture. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
