1 lb. fine cornmeal
1 egg
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
Pinch soda
1 c. buttermilk

Stir, adding water, to thick consistency. Drop in deep fat (peanut oil). Cook in temperature of 375 degrees. Serves 6.
