SILK CHOCOLATE PIE 
Meringue crust
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix egg whites, salt and cream of tartar and beat until stiff. Add sugar, small amounts gradually. Fold in pecans and vanilla. Spread on sides and bottom of greased pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes and then let cool.

Filling (unbaked)
3/4 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 sq. chocolate, melted & cooled
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, small amount at a time. Add chocolate, 1 egg at a time and beat for 5 minutes at high speed after each egg is added. Add vanilla and spread on cool crust and chill.
