ISLAND KAHLUA: 4 c. sugar 1 fifth vodka 2 oz. instant coffee crystals 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise Bring sugar and 4 cups water to a boil, boil 5 minutes. Blend coffee with small amount of water, stir into sugar syrup. Bring to boil until coffee is dissolved. Remove from heat, cool. Pour into gallon glass just, add vodka and vanilla bean. Let age 2 weeks, shaking every day. Remove vanilla bean. Makes 1/2 gallon. KAHLUA: 2 1/2 c. water 6 tbsp. instant coffee 2 tsp. glycerin 3 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1 fifth vodka Boil 2 cups of water with sugar, dissolve. Mix coffee and 1/2 cup water, boil. Mix vanilla, glycerine and vodka. Cool and mix all ingredients together. Makes 1/2 gallon. |
