LORRAINE'S ICEBOX COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugars. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients; add to first mixture. Add nuts, shape into roll. Chill, several hours or overnight. Slice. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees 12 minutes.
