SHIP WRECK CASSEROLE 
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 1/2 c. green beans
1 can tomato soup
6 med. potatoes
6 med. carrots
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. hot milk

Cook green beans and drain. Season ground beef with salt and pepper. Lightly brown with onions in shortening. Add cooked green beans and soup; mix lightly. Pour into casserole.

Meanwhile, cook potatoes and carrots together. Drain, mash, add butter, hot milk, season to taste. Mix well and spread over top of meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
