FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. pure butter
1 c. sugar
Dash salt
5 eggs
2 c. self rising flour
1 sm. jar pineapple preserves
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
4 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. candied pineapple

Cream butter, add sugar, add eggs one at a time, add fruit, nuts, preserves and flavoring. Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees about 1 hour. This batter will be stiff so will have to be beaten by hand.
