EVERYDAY COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 lg. egg
1 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. corn oil
1 c. white sugar
1 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. coconut
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and egg. Add cereals, then vanilla. Add flour sifted with salt, soda and cream of tartar. Mix in corn oil, coconut and nuts. Add vanilla. Chill 1 hour after mixed. Make balls size of Hickory nuts. Put on cookie sheet and press with the bottom of a glass dipped with sugar. Bake about 10 minutes in a 350-375 degree oven until light brown. Yield about 4 dozen cookies.
