CABBAGE-CHEDDAR CHOWDER | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. chopped onion 1/2 med. head cabbage, shredded 3 c. milk 3 tbsp. flour 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 2 tbsp. sliced pimento 1 c. chopped celery 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped 1/2 c. water 2 c. shredded cheddar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Cook and stir ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper in Dutch oven until vegetables are tender; drain. Stir in cabbage and water; cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is done (about 10 minutes). |
