MILLION DOLLAR COOKIES 
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. flour

Cream together until smooth: sugar, Crisco, egg and vanilla. In separate bowl blend dry ingredients. Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Shape dough into small balls (walnut size) and dip into sugar on one side. Set plain side down on greased cookie sheet. Press flat with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar and press until flat. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly brown.
