GREEN TOMATOES MINCEMEAT PIE
FILLING
 
1 peck green tomatoes
1 qt. apples
1 lb. raisins
3 juice lemon
1 lb. Lo-Count
2 1/2 lbs. brown sugar
Cinnamon, nutmeg or any spice

Cut tomatoes in small pieces; put in a larger pan (sprinkle with salt, let stand, then drain off). Add enough water to prevent sticking. Set on stove and cook for a while, then add the rest.

Grate 1 lemon and add the whites of another lemon. Cut in small pieces. let the mix cook until tomatoes and apple are tender. Stir often to prevent sticking. Remove from stove and seal in jar. Add a lump of butter to each pie when ready for baking.
