ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts

Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs. Gradually add dry ingredients (mixture will be thick). Form into 3 or 4 long rolls. Roll in wax paper and refrigerate until firm. Slice thin and cook as desired. Bake at 375 degrees. 10 to 15 minutes.
