DOUBLE BATCH OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. butter flavor shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla
6 c. oats
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 box raisins
Nuts (opt.)

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients a little at a time. Stir in raisins and nuts if desired. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Cookies will be soft, slightly browned on edges.
