1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. water

Boil 3 minutes. Have 2 egg whites beaten until they stand in peaks. Add the boiled mixture to egg whites right after removing from stove. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat 5 minutes. Spread on cooled cake.
