WHITE CAKE ICING 
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, room temperature
Food coloring (optional)
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine milk and flour and cook until thick, stirring constantly to keep from scorching. LET COOL COMPLETELY.

In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, Crisco, and butter (do not use whipped butter). Beat until fluffy, then add milk and flour mixture, and vanilla. Beat thoroughly. A few drops of food coloring may be added if desired.

This is a good icing for a strawberry, pineapple, or coconut cake.

NOTE: Mrs. Filbert's butter or "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" works best.
