MRS. ASEL'S GOULASH 
4 med. potatoes
2 carrots
1 to 2 stalks celery
1 lg. onion
1 can kidney beans (optional)
1 lb. hamburger
1 lg. can tomatoes
2 slices cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. sugar

Peel and slice vegetables. Layer 1/2 potatoes, carrots, celery, onion and kidney beans in Dutch oven or large casserole. Crumble 1/2 hamburg over vegetables. Repeat layers with remaining vegetables and hamburg. Put tomatoes, cheese, salt, pepper, sugar and 1/2 cup water in blender.

Blend 2 to 3 seconds. Pour over all. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 2 hours or until vegetables are tender.
