CINNAMON ROLLS
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. warm water (105-115 degrees)
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
3/4 tsp. salt
3 - 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, divided

POWDERED SUGAR ICING:

1 c. sifted powdered sugar
Enough milk for drizzling
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl; add sugar, shortening, egg, salt and half the flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Punch down. Divide dough in half and roll into a 12"x18" rectangle. Melt 3 tablespoons butter. Spread half over dough. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon. Sprinkle half over dough. Sprinkle 1/3 cup raisins on dough. Roll up jelly roll style, beginning from longest side. Seal. Slice into 12 pieces. Place on greased pan. Cover. Let rise until nearly double, about 30 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees 20 to 25 minutes. Drizzle with powdered sugar icing.
