SAVORY MEATBALLS 
2 lbs. finely ground beef
1 c. fine soft whole wheat bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 (1 lb.) can or jar applesauce
1/4 c. grated onion
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2/3 c. catsup
1/2 c. water

Combine all ingredients except catsup and water. Mix lightly and form into 16 small balls. Brown in hot vegetable oil and then put balls into baking dish. Combine catsup and water and pour over meat balls. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Serve hot.
