RAISIN NUT BREAD 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 med. eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
3 c. Bran
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Grease the bread pans.

3. Switch on a burner to low heat. Melt butter in the saucepan on the burner.

4. Add the sugar, salt and buttermilk. Stir with the wooden spoon until it has dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the stove and turn off the heat.

5. Allow the melted butter mixture to cool.

6. Beat the eggs in the small mixing bowl. Stir them into the melted butter mixture.

7. Stir together the flour and salt into the mixing bowl. Add the raisins and nuts and blend well with a spoon.

8. Add the melted butter mixture to the flour mixture and stir to blend. Make sure there are no dry patches at the bottom of the mixing bowl.

9. Put the dough into the bread pans. Level off the tops with a spoon.

10. Bake for 1 hour. Take the pans out of the oven using the oven mitts. Turn off the oven heat.

11. Let the loaves cool slightly. Cut them into thick slices with the bread knife.
