WILTED LETTUCE 
1 lg. bowl washed garden lettuce
1/2 lb. bacon
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/2 c. white vinegar
2/3 c. sugar (or substitute sweetener)
2/3 c. cold water

Drain lettuce well, shake off water, and cut up; place in bowl with onions and set aside.

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from drippings. Add vinegar, sugar and water to drippings and let come to a boil. Pour over cut lettuce and onions and stir. Break up bacon strips and pout over top.

Serve immediately.
