24-HOUR SALAD 
1 head lettuce, shredded
1/2 c. chopped green onions or chive
1/2 c. celery
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed but uncooked
1 pt. mayonnaise
1-3 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Arrange in layers by order given. Cover and refrigerate overnight, if desired garnish with 1/2 pound crumbled bacon, 6 sliced hard boiled eggs and tomato wedges.
