CRUST FOR FRIED PIES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1/3 c. plus 1 tbsp. water

Sift the flour and salt together, cut in the shortening and mix well. Add water and mix well. Roll out on board or pastry cloth to 1/8 inch thick. Cut out 4 inch diameter circles. In each circle, place 1 1/2 tablespoon of your favorite fruit (apples, cherries, blueberries or raisins). Fold to make half moon. Wet the edges and with a fork press together. Fry in deep fat until light brown. Remove from deep fryer and let drain on wire rack. Then put sugar on both sides.
