BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
2 boxes raisins
4 c. water (boiling)
6 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter
8 c. flour
4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts

Pour boiling water over raisins, soda, salt, and butter; let stand until cool. Grease and flour 1 pound coffee cans.

Mix flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and nuts into raisin mixture (extra large bowl). Batter is real thick. Pour into greased and floured pans or cans. Bake at very low heat until done.
