OLD FASHION HARD CHRISTMAS CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1 c. Karo light corn syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. desired Lorann flavoring oil
Desired food coloring
Powdered sugar

Mix first 3 ingredients in large heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 300 degrees or until drops of syrup form hard and brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat. Stir in flavoring oil and coloring.

Pour onto well greased pan (cookie sheet) with sides. Cool enough to handle. Cut with scissors into strips then break into small pieces. Cover with powdered sugar, by placing in a paper bag and shaking. Store in airtight container.

Flavor and Color. Peppermint - Pink. Cinnamon - Red. Wintergreen - Green. Sassafras - Light Brown. Clove - Blue. Orange - Orange. Grape - Purple. Lemon - Yellow. Black Walnut - Clear. Butterscotch - Gold.
