FRESH BRATWURST PREPARATION 
fresh bratwurst
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1 (12 oz.) can water
1/2 medium onion, diced

Combine all of the above and simmer at very low temperature for 1/2 hour. If bratwurst is cooked too long or at too high a temperature the outer casing will break, which should be avoided. The cooked bratwurst can remain in the liquid mixture until ready to broil or grill. Immediately prior to dining, broil or grill bratwurst until lightly browned to give attractive color.

Serve plain or on Potato Rolls, Hot Dog Buns, or Hard Rolls with diced red onions, relish, and Horseradish mustard.
