NEW ENGLAND DONUTS 
1/4 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed potatoes
3 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk

Blend Crisco, sugar, salt and eggs. Add potatoes. Sift dry ingredients together. Add together and add buttermilk. Fry in 375 degree Crisco oil until brown on bottom side. Turn once; drain. Freezes well.
