LENTIL SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. olive oil
15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 c. water
1/2 c. chopped tomatoes
1/4 c. lentils, rinsed
1/3 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. each: oregano, thyme
Dash red pepper sauce, optional

Cook onion and garlic in oil until onion is tender, 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer slowly until very tender, about an hour. Serve over hot pasta.
