SELF FROSTED CAKE 
1 1/3 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. solid shortening (vegetable)
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

1/2 c. chocolate syrup
1/2 c. warm water
1/3 c. sugar

Combine in a large bowl - blend at low. Mix 2 minutes at medium speed. Spread in a greased 2 quart casserole dish. Spoon topping evenly over batter.

Bake 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 1-2 minutes. Invert onto serving plate, scrape sauce from bottom of bowl and gently smooth over the top.
