CUCUMBER - ONION PICKLES 
12 lg. cucumbers
6 med. onions
1/4 c. salt
1 qt. vinegar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white granulated sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. dry mustard

Wash, peel and slice cucumbers and onions. Cover with the salt and let set overnight. Bring vinegar and sugar to a boil. Mix mustard, turmeric and cornstarch in cold vinegar and add to boiling mixture. Drain cucumbers and onions; add to vinegar solution and bring to a boil. Pack into hot, sterilized jars and seal at once.
