BUTTERMILK CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs

Put all ingredients in mixing bowl and beat together except 1/3 of the buttermilk; add it when adding the eggs. Cook in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
