BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 box plus 1 c. light brown sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition. Sift baking powder and flour. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into well greased tube pan lined with waxed paper. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325 degrees.

FILLING:

1 stick butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk

Combine 1/2 stick of butter and pecans. Cook until brown. Remove from heat and add enough milk to spread as you add the sugar and vanilla.
