DINNER ROLLS 
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. milk
1/2 c. warm (90 degree) water
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
4 c. self-rising flour
Pinch of salt

Dissolve yeast in warm (90 degree) water. Heat shortening in milk until shortening is melted. Add sugar and allow to cool until warm. Beat in egg and yeast mixture. Add flour, one cup at a time; knead lightly. Pinch off desired number of rolls and place in a greased pan or make into 2 loaves. Place in greased loaf pans; allow to rise until double in bulk in a warm place. Bake at 400 degrees until brown.

Refrigerate remaining dough in greased airtight container or freeze. Bread may be shaped into cloverleaf, crescent or other shapes as desired.
