APPLE PLATE PIE 
1 (6 oz.) pkg. dried apple chunks
1 3/4 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
2 or 3 (8-inch) double pie crusts

In saucepan, cover apple chunks with water and cook until tender. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking and add more water if needed. When done, stir in sugar, salt and apple pie spice. Mix well. Pour into pie crusts and cover with top layers of crust. Press edges firmly and prick centers with fork. Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown.
