MISSISSIPPI MUD 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1/3 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. vanilla
Miniature marshmallows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and beat well. Sift flour, cocoa and salt. Add to mixture. Add nuts and pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake about 25-30 minutes. Take out of oven, spread with miniature marshmallows. Put back in oven until marshmallows begin to melt. Let cool.

ICING:

1/3 c. cocoa
1 stick melted butter
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. Carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
