1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. real vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

Have the above ingredients at room temperature. Cream all together until fluffy. Then fold in all the following ingredients which have been sifted together: 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt

Mix well, then drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of drinking glass which has been dipped in granulated sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes.
