PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream together sugar, shortening and peanut butter. Beat in egg and vanilla and milk with soda. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add to peanut butter mixture and beat until smooth. Pour batter into lightly greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees about 40 minutes. Cool before icing.

PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c peanut butter
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Hot water to spread

Combine first 4 ingredients, add hot water gradually while beating until spreading consistency. Spread on cooled cake.
