BARBECUED SHORT RIBS 
3 to 4 lbs. calf short ribs
3 tbsp. cooking fat
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. catsup
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 lg. clove garlic, finely chopped

Brown short ribs in cooking fat. Pour off drippings. Season with salt and pepper. Add water, cover tightly and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Combine catsup, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and garlic. Mix well. Pour sauce over short ribs and continue cooking, covered, 20 minutes, turning occasionally. 4 servings.
