LIZZIES (CHRISTMAS COOKIES) 
3 c. raisins
1/2 c. whiskey
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 lb. citron
1 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. chopped nuts

Pour whiskey over raisins and fruit, let stand 1 hour. Sift all dry ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients to chopped fruit and raisins and nuts. Combine with butter, sugar and eggs; mix well. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
