MAMA ROGERS POPCORN BALLS 
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. syrup
1 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter in a heavy saucepan and mix in all ingredients. Cook to soft ball stage over medium high heat (to test for soft ball stage, let mixture slow boil for a while. Then test by stirring and dripping small amount of mixture in a glass of cold water. When mixture forms a ball in the water it is ready.) Pour over large bowl of popped corn (about 6 cups). Stir, making sure all popped corn is coated. Wet hands and make balls.
