1 (2 layer) cake mix (dark) 24 lg. marshmallows 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1 (14 oz.) pkg. coconut 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. milk 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Bake as directed in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan for 20 minutes. Melt marshmallows with 1 cup milk and 1 cup sugar in saucepan over medium heat, stirring to mix well. Stir in coconut. Pierce hot cake with handle of small wooden spoon. Pour coconut over cake. Cool. Bring butter and the next 2 ingredients to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in chocolate chips; remove from heat. Beat until mixture thickens. Pour over cake. Yield 24 servings. |
