PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
Sift into bowl:

2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Melt in 1 cup boiling water:

1 1/2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco

Add 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter and bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk and 2 slightly beaten eggs to the above ingredients. Pour into a greased sheet pan or a large Pyrex pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

PEANUT BUTTER ICING:

1/2 c. smooth or chunky peanut butter
1/2 stick butter
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Add 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and beat well. Spread on WARM cake.
