APPLE DUMPLINGS 
4 apples (peeled and halved)
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar for ea. dumpling
1 tsp. butter for ea. dumpling
Cinnamon

Biscuit Dough:

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk

Divide biscuit dough in 4 parts. Roll to 1/4 inch thick. Arrange apples, sugar, butter and cinnamon on the circles. Fold dough over the apples. Arrange in pan.

Boil 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar for 5 minutes. Pour over dumplings. Baste during baking. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm.
