1 c. quick oats
1 stick butter
1 1/4 c. boiling water

Mix above 3 ingredients and let stand 30 minutes. 1 c. brown sugar 2 eggs 1 1/3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together the 2 sugars and eggs, blend well. Add dry ingredients and vanilla, then add oatmeal mixture. Bake in greased and floured 10 x 14 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

BROILER TOPPING:

1 stick melted butter
3 tbsp. cream
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. coconut

Put under broiler 3 or 4 minutes until bubbling.
